Bespoke Art Deco, Old Cut Diamond Ring by Roseanna Croft Jewellery

A family heirloom with a whole lot of history turned into an art deco inspired beauty! This Art Deco Bespoke Ring has been over 12 months in the making and one of my proudest moments at Roseanna Croft Jewellery.

This ring is amazing.

It all started in early 2016 when a beautiful Aussie lady and her other half turned up at the boutique with a beautiful design idea and 3 amazing old cut diamonds.

I was asked to design an art deco engagement ring, but a replica of the final piece. So first, in Sterling Silver and in a years’ time, for her mother – a diamond version.

ring straight away and I couldn’t have been happier. It was so special.

Then a few months later, she came to see me with her mum (who had made time on her trip over from Australia) and we sat and spoke about the final design. We were deciding on metals and gemstones to surround these beautiful old cut diamonds.

As we were making the decisions, they told me the story of the original ring and how it belonged to Grannie, it had been redesigned a few times to grow with the fashions but this was the final time.

The final decision on gemstones was made. Pale lilac, Ceylon Sapphires were to surround the Diamonds and they were to be set in 18ct Rose Gold. I already knew this art deco ring would be a show-stopper. We arranged to have the ring ready for summer this year when the beautiful Aussie’s would be in the area again – I couldn’t wait.

Because of the shape of the baguette Ceylon Sapphires, we had to have them specially cut to fit in the ring. They also had to be the perfect shade of pale blue to harmonise with the Rose Gold.

Once we had the perfect stones, I could get to work creating the ring.

An Art Deco, Show Stopping Ring

The day my lovely clients came to pick the ring up was probably was of the happiest day’s we’ve had in the boutique, there were hugs and kisses and smiles all around! Mother and Daughter in love with their art deco beauties.

Tell me, what do you think? Would you love to own something this glamorous and with this much history?
