What Is The Design Journey Of A Bespoke Engagement Ring?

Bespoke rings offer you the opportunity to wear something unique on your finger – something nobody else in the world can say they have. All of our bespoke engagement rings follow a similar journey from design to creation, and it’s this journey that allows them to become truly individual pieces.

The Process Of Designing Bespoke Jewellery

The process is a blend of old-fashioned and time-honoured craftsmanship, blended with the very best that modern technology has to offer, such CAD and 3D printing.

Design Sketches

The old-fashioned sketch is still the first step of every great design, and handmade jewellery is no different. The process starts with a jewellery designer sketching out their proposed design. There will likely be several drafts of the design, as details and general ideas about dimensions are further honed.

At this point you’ll also choose the perfect diamond or gemstone for your ring.

Designs

From those relatively simple sketches, a more complex and detailed CAD diagram will be drawn. This gives a much clearer understanding of what the final ring will look like. In the case of bespoke jewellery, this stage allows changes to be made to a customer’s taste while alterations are still relatively simple.

Casting And Stone-Setting

We proceed to cast the ring in your chosen precious metal. Once completed it is cleaned up and stone setting commences as does any personalising (such as engraving), and a final buff and polish.

Presentation

This is the point where you finally get your engagement ring – it will be appropriately boxed and presented, and you can either come and pick it up in person, or it will be shipped to you.
