The gentleman came to me with his initial ideas, and we ended up with the following criteria:
After a sketch and a decision on how the ring was to look, we had great fun choosing the perfect diamond! We had a selection of three and the decision ultimately came down to the nicest cut and colour. Pear cut diamonds often vary in shape depending on how they are cut. Some are long and narrow, some are short and rounder. We went for the diamond that was cut in the middle of these, it was perfect!
While the design and manufacture process was ongoing, my client was telling me about where he intended to propose… in the sun, on the beach, in Bali. Could it get any more perfect!? Once I’d made the ring, I could not wait to show my client, nor could I wait for him to propose. They were flying to Bali that week.
I didn’t have to wait long, before I got the message to say, ‘SHE SAID YES!’ How exciting! I received lovely messages from both my client, and his fiancé to say how happy they were with the ring. She seems to love it, which for me, is what it’s all about. One very happy jewellery designer right here!
