Design Yourself a Cocktail Ring

Have you ever thought about designing yourself a ring ‘just because?’ Maybe a cocktail ring or redesigning some of your old jewellery. A piece to empower you and bring glamour into your life?

I am very fortunate to work with amazing people and each piece of jewellery I am privileged to make is unique and the stories behind the designs are different. I am working with one lady in particular who is designing herself a cocktail ring as a true act of self-love after coming to the realisation that she is way too hard on herself which can be detrimental to your mental health. The power that this ring will give her is undeniable.

I know because I have one of these rings myself and every time I look at it I am reminded of the strength I have in me and in particular to my personal design, the beautiful and enlightened life I wish to lead and how it is all possible.

This has got me thinking that every woman should design herself some jewellery and in particular a bespoke cocktail ring - begin a collection if you like!

How to Design a Cocktail Ring

A cocktail ring is a piece of jewellery that makes a statement, they can be bold or subtle but when you design it from scratch it can be 100% you and tell a part of your story. Cocktail rings first came about to wear to cocktail parties, believe it or not! But today, they are so much more.

You can use one statement gemstone, precious or semi-precious; tourmalines or sapphires are great for cocktail rings and their variety of colours give such versatility. You can encase them in a delicate floral design or surround them with sparkling diamonds of different shapes.

You could also use a selection of smaller gemstones perhaps with different meanings, like your children’s birthstones, unique healing properties or simply your favourite colours.

How about a yellow diamond ring surrounded by seed pearls to remind you of joy and your love for summertime - wear that on your darkest days and see how this ring will brighten them. Or a teal sapphire to remind you of the ocean?

You’ll be amazed at how the process of bespoke jewellery design and putting that ring on your finger can make you feel - and I want every woman to feel it! It is a seriously empowering thing to invest in yourself, especially to invest in a luxury item in this way. You know that amazing feeling when you’ve just bought that handbag you’ve been eyeing up for months? It’s that feeling tenfold!

How Much Do Cocktail Rings Cost

For a bespoke ring to be passed through generations, I’d recommend having a budget of £2000+ for a ring with high quality gemstones and the most durable precious metals (like 18ct gold and platinum). The idea that this piece will become an heirloom and carry part of your legacy.

This is my Sapphire and pear cut diamond ring, made in Platinum, encased in a lotus flower design. This ring is worth approximately £3000 and will only become more valuable over the years.
