The Five Most Romantic Places to Propose in London

In the last few months, weddings, holidays and other plans have been put on hold, including proposals and this makes us extremely sad to see. Love doesn’t stop and I don’t believe we have to cancel our plans – just be innovative and get inspiration from this guide on where to propose in London.

Whether you have your engagement ring but the holiday to the South of France where you were going to propose has been cancelled, or you don’t have the ring yet and just know she’s the one, you can make it happen NOW and in your city. (If you’re not based in London, you can use these places as inspiration to find the most suitable place near you or go on a day trip!)

St Paul’s Cathedral

Outside one of the most iconic buildings in London would surely be a proposal to remember. You could take her on a ‘sightseeing’ tour of London (complete with open top red bus) and pop the question in the middle of the square next to St Paul’s Cathedral! And circumstance dependant when we says ‘yes!’ take her for a bottle of champagne at the Madison rooftop bar and overlook the incredible city.

Hampstead Heath Pergola

Try this in mid-April and wander through Hampstead’s Pergola, a dramatic raised walkway overlooking West Heath. The walkway in mid-April will be covered in climbing vines and Wisteria but you get great views of London any time of year. Imagine proposing in your own secluded area of the walkway, just the two of you and 100 years of history.

Kew Gardens

Let your love bloom (cheesy, we know) in this deeply romantic setting. There is everything you could need for the perfect proposal at Kew Gardens from treetop walkways and wild meadows to incredible sculptures. Certainly a proposal for the nature lover that she will not forget.

Regents Park – London Zoo – Primrose Hill

A wonderful area of London for many reasons, like romantic walks and picnics, Regents park could be a simple yet deeply romantic proposal.

But hold on, let’s take it one step further… Spend the day at London Zoo, propose at Penguin Beach and afterwards wander to the top of the highest point in London for a champagne picnic on Primrose Hill. (This sounds like a proposal that won’t be beaten!)

Little Venice

Can’t get on that plane? Be whisked away to one of the most romantic spots in London, Little Venice. A tranquil area of quaint canals and waterside cafes. Either treat her to a canal boat ride or just wander around until the moment is right (the moment is almost always right) and drop on one knee outside a charming restaurant for that celebratory bottle of champagne afterwards.

A proposal doesn’t need to be extravagant, most women would be mortified at a flash mob proposal, but sometimes, you may need to get a little creative. Don’t let the things life throws at us put your love story on hold.

Not got the ring sorted yet? Fear not, read about engagement rings here (and download our pricing guide.) Or talk to one of our designers using the form below. You could propose with a ‘place holder ring’ and then the two of you design the perfect engagement ring together.
