Design Story of Diamond and Sapphire Ring Redesign by Roseanna Croft Jewellery

At the beginning of the year we did a ring redesign for a lady who had your typical 6 claw diamond solitaire. It was a replacement for a ring that was stolen many years ago, but she had never truly been in love with it.

The ring was a Platinum solitaire with a beautiful Diamond, just over half a carat! Our client loved some of the designs we had shown her before with the vintage and Art Deco twist but still didn’t know what she loved the most. So, we gave her a choice of three designs, all quite different! All designs have Sapphires incorporated because she loved the colour! Sapphire, Diamond and Platinum give a real air of elegance to any design which really suited our client’s style. She is always immaculately dressed and very glamorous. So, our beautiful client decided on the vintage cluster ring, with a slight 1930’s feel to it.

We went on to make this ring, again in Platinum for her, which I am so pleased to say she loved! She put it on straight away and it just suited her so much. She walked around with a real air of grace about her, like a Lady.

This is one of the reasons jewellery redesign is so special. We carry a lot of ourselves in our jewellery and in the way we look, when we don’t love something it shows, yet we still wear it because it means something to us, or sometimes, because we feel we have too.

Just like our lovely Lady, she felt she had to wear this ring because it was a replacement for her stolen engagement ring, but she didn’t love it. And now, after we carried out the ring redesign, she completely loves it and all her memories and sentiment are carried in a ring she feels emotionally connected too. It’s remarkable how our jewellery makes us feel.
