Smart Works Birmingham

Here at Roseanna Croft Jewellery we hold our mission very close to our hearts.  We believe that it’s our goal not just to design and make beautiful jewellery, but to empower women in the process.

We want to make jewellery that makes women feel sensual, powerful and enlightened.  We believe strongly that when women support each other, amazing things can happen.  We are proud to be female and are unapologetically passionate about building one another up.

We also want to be a brand that aligns to charities that do amazing things.  That’s why we are supporting Smart Works Birmingham and the incredible work they do. The charity provides high quality interview clothing and interview training to unemployed women in need.  It is clear that over past decades there has been progression when is comes to the right’s of women, but there is still a long way to go.

Each client referred from a Job Centre or similar has a personalised styling session receiving a complete outfit of clothes and accessories (theirs to keep) followed by one-to-one interview coaching. The Smart Works service delivery is provided by a team of highly skilled, fully trained volunteers and all stock is donated by other working women or comes direct from retail partners such as Hobbs, Whistles and Evans.  They are also supported by brands such as Bobbi Brown and LuLu Guiness

Recently, we were invited to visit Smart Works – Birmingham and had the pleasure of meeting Joanne Penn-Crossland – Centre Manager and Philippa Pickavance – Chairwoman of the Trustees.  The facilities are fascinating and the service they provide amazing which is reflected in their client success rate where 72% get the job!

How inspiring! Like our jewellery, Smart Works harness the power of clothes and confidence to allow a woman to be her best at a crucial moment in her life giving her the confidence, the self belief and the practical tools required to succeed at interview and transform her life.

We are honoured to be working with such an amazing charity and following their journey and the number of women they will help get back into work in the coming years.
