Diamond Ring Redesign

Ms Smith came to me asking to redesign her engagement ring now she was no longer with her husband. The diamonds in her engagement ring were so special that she didn’t wish to let them go to waste and wanted to carry on wearing them, but in a different way.

Because this was such a special project to her, we took extra time and care between us to ensure the design was 100% perfect. We took inspiration from a vintage style ring but wanted to keep the design quite modern and under no circumstances was it to look like an engagement ring.

We ultimately made the ring as wide as the centre diamond to give it the statement look, placed each stone in its own frame of platinum and set in delicate claws. We gave the edge of the frames a milgrain effect to really give the vintage vibe and placed cutouts in the main frame of the oval diamond to let the light through and again, add a vintage effect.

This ring is extremely special to Ms. Smith and now that we have redesigned it, it has a new meaning for her to celebrate a new chapter in her life. This is also a ring she can one day pass to her daughter.

About the Jewellery

A chunky Platinum, statement ring using Ms Smith’s old diamonds; a 1ct Oval Cut Diamond and two half carat trillion diamonds. We created a raised edge profile to the band and added a milgrain effect around the metal we set the diamonds in. The diamonds themselves are set in claws which help them be the showcase of this one of a kind ring.
Her original engagement ring was made in 18ct gold and showcased a 1ct oval diamond and two half carat trillion diamonds.
